I have already raved about my love for Urban Decay eyeliners and how they convinced me to try eyeliners myself. Nyx Slide On eyeliners are cheaper then UD ones but nearly just as good with pigmentation and staying power ( check out the Nyx eyeliners review here ). They have 18 gorgeous shades and 4 just didn’t satisfy my greed. So I promised myself that I would get more shades from this range. I took advantage of the Lifestyle promotion last month and got myself more eyeliners.
I really splurged and got 6 eyeliners. Jet Black, Brown Perfection, Glitzy Gold, Gunmetal, Golden Olive and Jewel.
I completely forgot to mention in my first Nyx eyeliners post, the complete name of this product. Haven’t really heard such a long name for a product before. Talk about self appreciation! LOL
Jet Black is a matte black shade ( there’s a glittery black shade too but I can’t remember the name now ). It’s comparable to UD’s Perversion but sadly its not a true black like Perversion. Infact, it’s really close to UD’s Zero. Also, the staying power on waterline was also not impressive. The color bleeded out after a few hours and I had to re-apply eventually.
Brown Perfection is a deep matte brown shade, comparable to UD’s Demolition. This one also, is less pigmented then its colorful counterparts.
Glitzy Gold is a true gold color, with lots of shimmer. It applied much more smoothly then the above two shades. It’s comparable to UD’s El Dorado.
Gunmetal is a shimmery steel grey, with tiny silver glitter. It’s comparable to UD’s Uzi. This was the smoothest and creamiest of this bunch of eyeliners, and also the most pigmented.
Golden Olive is a dark green with gold shimmer. More like an antiqued green. It’s comparable to UD’s Stash. This one is also quite pigmented.
Jewel is warm plum color with tiny gold glitter. This is one of my favorite colors probably because it’s similar to UD’s 1999 which is also one of my favorite UD eyeliners. This one is also very pigmented and creamy in application.
Here are the swatches for all the eyeliners. They have been applied sans primer.
Is it a Hit? The four glittery shades are the best of the bunch, with Gunmetal and Jewel coming out on top. They have great staying power, good pigmentation, are a little less expensive and some of the shades are totally worth purchasing.
Is it a Miss? The matte black and brown shade didn’t impress me much. They are not as pigmented as their glittery counterparts. Also, I don’t think they will last long in the waterline. These two shades can be given a miss.
So, what did you guys think of my second batch of Nyx eyeliners? If you hadn’t purchased the first time, then I hope I have convinced you now to go check them out.
Do let me know your views.
Till next time, Take Care.
